Fisher FC Annual General Meeting
The 2013 Annual General Meeting of Fisher Society.
This year’s AGM is particularly important as members will receive an update relating to the campaign to bring Fisher home to Bermondsey and Rotherhithe, so it is vital that as many supporters of Fisher attend as possible. New members are welcome to join on the night.
Fisher director and secretary Dan York said: “It’s vital that anyone interested in seeing Fisher back at the heart of our Bermondsey and Rotherhithe community attends the AGM. We’re at an important point in the club’s history and it is essential that our owners – the fans – play their part in taking decisions that will directly affect our future.”
The AGM will deal with the presentation of the accounts, receive the club’s annual report and will also see the election of directors to the Fisher board.
After the formal business of the meeting, an informal session will be held with the Fisher FC first team manager Billy Walton and his coaching team who will update fans on pre-season preparation.
Supporter-owned Fisher offer the opportunity for local people to get involved with the running of the club.
Mr York explained: ”Because we are fan-run, every one of our members has the chance to stand for election to the board, or to volunteer their time to help us. We can offer fantastic opportunities to play a part in a club that is truly run for the benefit of its members and community.
“We’d especially like to see applications from anyone with a professional skill or experience that they believe might aid the club and in particular we’re looking to add further financial and accounting expertise to the board. We would also welcome interest from individuals who are involved in other local voluntary and community groups.”
Volunteering opportunities with Fisher start with a commitment of just a few hours per month. Anyone interested in joining Fisher and volunteering their time to help should visit www.fisherfc.co.uk to find out more.
