Usual easy-paced ride on mostly quiet streets and paths. Start/finish in Deal Porter Square next to Canada Water Library and opposite CW Station (SE16 7AR). Plan is to ride to Greenwich, cross via the foot tunnel, then ride upstream to Tower Bridge, probably using the “canals” through Wapping. Finally back along the Bermondsey riverside to Canada Water.  Riding Tower Bridge is not as daunting as some think – slow traffic, no side turnings, actually rather straightforward.  Rest of route is quiet roads or paths.  Lots of…

Half-marathon using part of the London Marathon route in Tower Hamlets, Southwark, Lewisham and Greenwich. 15,000 runners will set off from Tower Bridge at 9am. Main roads in SE16 will be closed 7am to 2pm. (NB Jamaica Road will remain open westbound.) The Little Half (a timed run covering 2.4 miles) starts at 12.30pm in Southwark Park.

Comfortable Classical is City of London Sinfonia’s latest series of relaxed classical concerts for anyone and everyone, from young children to older adults. In these short lunchtime concerts, there will be introductions from the musicians and classical music inspired by nature and birdsong.
