A Year of Service‘ is a national project celebrating shared volunteering across faith communities in the Diamond Jubilee year.

Each of the faiths involved is developing a chosen theme. For Buddhists this is ‘Caring for the Environment.’ Kagyu Samye Dzong London will lead a ‘Faith and the Environment Day’ at their centre in Bermondsey.

The Very Revd Andrew Nunn, Dean of Southwark, will join Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche, Abbot of Samye Ling Monastery in Scotland and representatives of other faith groups who will present their own faith’s approach to caring for the environment. There will be Q&A sessions.

A ceremonial tree will be planted in  Spa Gardens opposite the Samye Dzong Centre.
